Times News Network Ludhiana: Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi on Monday inaugurated projects to establish two public libraries in his constituency. The libraries — costing around Rs 26.50 lakh — would be established in Ghoda Colony (new ward number 30 and old ward number 20) and near MC Zone B office (old ward number 57, new ward number 81).
MLA Prashar said that projects worth around Rs 3.25 crore have been inaugurated in Ludhiana Central constituency during the last three days. As the Aam Aadmi Party-led state govt is committed to overall development of the state, “no stone is being left unturned for developing quality infrastructure in Ludhiana Central constituency,” Prashar said.
“Establishing a library in Ghoda Colony is a step towards promoting reading culture among the residents, especially children,” the MLA said. The projects have commenced only after getting feedback from residents, Prashar said, adding, “more development projects would be inaugurated in the coming days”. Residents expressed the hope that the libraries would encourage children in the area to read rather than watch mobile phones.
