Two people charged in connection with shoplifting

Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with shoplifting offences in the town centre

Plain clothed police officers from Dorchester Neighbourhood Policing Team were targeting shoplifters in the town centre yesterday afternoon (April 1). A man and a woman were detailed along South Street and searched after they were seen concealing items in their clothing. The stock, which included baby oil, hand wash and foot powder was recovered and returned to the store whilst the pair are set to appear in court.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “More plain clothed foot patrol from the Neighbourhood Policing Team today targeting shoplifting. “A male and female were detained in the town centre and searched after they were seen concealing items in their clothing. "Stock was recovered and returned to the store.



Both will be reported for Court.”.
