In a release, police said the graffiti attack occurred on the evening of Jan.



16. The damages were noticed the next day and reported to police. Police said two of the suspects have been arrested and charged, while investigators are asking for assistance to locate the third individual.

The butterfly mural addresses themes of change and diversity, organizers said. The mural is on the south wall of the building, facing Rideau Street. It helps to beautify the building and highlight the diversity of the community.

The work was designed by artist and community arts facilitator Claudia Salguero after conversations with residents from across the city. Salguero brought together a team of more than 60 community members, who created the mural piece by piece in several locations. They were later joined to complete the mural.
