Two killed in Dinajpur road accidents A motorcyclist and a microbus driver were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents in Dinajpur's Sadar upazila on Thursday. The deceased were identified as motorcyclist Salim Hossain, 30, son of Shaukat Hossain, a resident of Amtali area under Chirirbandar upazila and a microbus driver Jewel Hossain,48, son of Antaj Ali, a resident of Dakshin Devipur village under Ghoraghat upazila in the district. Farid Hossain, officer-in charge of Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station, said motorcyclist Salim was crushed under a goods-laden truck on the Dinajpur-Gobindaganj regional highway in Panchbari area in the upazila around 3:30 pm. He died on the spot and another rider was injured. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical and College Hospital for an autopsy.



Meanwhile, a microbus and a mango-laden pickup van collided head-on on the Dinajpur-Gobindaganj regional highway in Kaugaon intersection area around 10 am, leaving five people, including the driver and helper of the microbus, injured, police inspector Md. Farid Hossain said. The injured were taken to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical and College Hospital where microbus driver Jewel Hossain succumbed to his injuries around 4 pm.

Preparations are underway to file a case in this incident, Farid Hossain said. MB.
