Ludhiana: Two gangs were busted with the arrest of seven people while police recovered 27 mobile phones. In the first case, the CIA-I of Police Commissionerate Ludhiana arrested three accused, Harmanjot Singh alias Kaka of Mohalla Adarsh Nagar, Bolu alias Golu of Adarsh Nagar and Prince Kumar alias Prince of Mohalla Guru Arjun Dev Nagar and recovered 21 mobile phones from their possession. Inspector Rajesh Kumar, in-charge CIA-1, said that the police have solved over two dozen cases with their arrest.
Harmanjot Singh is already facing trial in a case of snatching lodged against him at Division Number 7 police station on Aug 26, 2023. He came out on bail on Jan 31, while Bolu alias Golu is facing trial in two cases of snatching. Bholu came out of the jail on bail on April 2.
In the second case, the Sahnewal police arrested three accused for snatchings and recovered six mobile phones, one sharp-edged weapon and two bikes from them. Those arrested include Amit Kumar alias Mickey of Makkar Colony of Giaspura, Rohit Kumar alias Bihari of Satsang Nagar of Lohara, Ratan Chand Verma alias Honey of Prem Nagar and Deepak Kumar of Mohinder Nagar of Lohara. Sahnewal station house officer inspector Jagdev Singh said Vipan Kumar of Bihari Chowk filed a complaint to police that two miscreants robbed him of mobile phone by threatening with a sharp-edged weapon.
