Two dead, three injured, and four missing in an explosion at a mine in Asturias.

An explosion at the Cerredo mine in Asturias left at least two people dead on Monday. Four people are missing and three are injured. Initial reports suggest the accident occurred inside the mine, where a machine exploded, causing injuries and burns to everyone nearby. As reported by the government spokesperson in the Principality, Guillermo Peláez, the workers had a permit to extract a mineral used to manufacture graphite.

As reported by the government spokesperson in the Principality, Guillermo Peláez, the workers had a permit to extract a mineral used to make graphite. Among those affected, two people have so far escaped injury. Two of the injured workers had to be transported in serious condition to the Villablino Health Center in León.



From there, one of them was transferred by helicopter to another hospital for treatment of severe burns. The third injured worker is at the Carmen y Severo Ochoa Hospital in Cangas del Narcea. The Asturias Fire Department, the Hunosa mining rescue brigade, and the Civil Guard have already arrived at the scene.
