Two Bengaluru men mistaken for fleeing after causing an accident, thrashed

Tindivanam: A mob thrashed two tourists from Bengaluru and damaged their car at Tindivanam on Wednesday morning, mistaking them for people who fleeing after causing an accident . The injured men, who police later identified as Mohamed Mustafa, a physical education teacher in a private school, and driver Giridha Yadav, were returning with two others from Puducherry and had stopped before a police check post. They reversed their vehicle to avoid being caught for drunk driving , but entered a busy road and ran into the mob.

Giridha Yadav, who was behind the wheel, was forced to stop the car as a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus came in between and the passersby surrounded the car. They pulled out the four occupants. Two of them managed to escape but the mob thrashed Mustafa and yadav, leaving them with severe injuries.



The incensed mob, mostly residents of the town as well as some passing motorists, also damaged the car's windshields before a police team reached the spot and rescued the two injured. While the injured men were taken to hospital, a hunt was launched for the two tourists who had managed to escape Tharun and Pranjal. Police registered a case against the driver on charges of drunk and rash driving and began investigations.

They also started identifying the people who resorted to violence against the tourists and taking the law into their own hands..
