Pune: A 22-year-old delivery boy died of severe head injuries after being attacked and bludgeoned to death with a slab in the Chandannagar vegetable market around 11 pm on Thursday. The incident stemmed from a dispute related to the alleged eve-teasing of a woman. The deceased — Pradeep Adagale , a resident of Avhalwadi in Wagholi — passed away at Sassoon General Hospital around 3.
30am on Friday while undergoing treatment. Following the incident, the Chandannagar police have arrested 38-year-old vegetable vendor Sunita Kakade and her 24-year-old son Rushi. They have also detained Rushi's 16-year-old friend.
Additionally, two more individuals have been booked for Adagale's murder. Senior inspector Seema Dhakne said preliminary investigations revealed that the motive behind Adagale's murder was his habit of eve-teasing a woman from the Kakade family for around a year. "Rushi and his family members repeatedly warned Adagale.
An altercation broke out between the two factions where both parties abused each other. This is when the Kakades attacked Adagale and bludgeoned him to death with a slab," the officer said..
