Two Aiken men charged after allegedly breaking into downtown home

Two Aiken man have been arrested after allegedly breaking into a home near downtown. Aiken Public Safety officers arrested Cole Alexander Gaffney, 31, and Tyrese Devell Odom, 24, Sept. 22 according to Aiken County Detention Center records.

Officers were called to a York Street N.E. home early Sept.



22 in reference to an in-progress burglary with the homeowners inside the residence, according to an incident report filed by Officer J.M. Wiley.

Missing North Augusta teen found safe in Florida; boyfriend taken into custody Officers ordered the suspects to exit the home, Wiley wrote. One suspect attempted to run but was caught, Wiley said. The other complied and was taken into custody without incident.

The suspects were identified as Gaffney and Odom. If convicted, a person faces an additional five years in prison unless the person is sentenced to death or life in prison. And failure to comply is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 30 days in jail, a $500 fine or both. An Aiken County magistrate denied bond for both men.
