DETECTIVES investigating reports of non-recent child sexual exploitation in Bradford have arrested 12 men and one woman as part of ongoing enquiries. The men, aged between 42 and 59, and a 60-year-old woman were arrested at several addresses across Bradford in March and April. All 13 have been interviewed and released on bail as enquiries are progressing with detectives.
The investigation centres on reports made by one woman of sexual abuse committed against her as a child, predominantly in the Bradford area, in the early 2000s. Detective Chief Inspector Vicky Greenbank, of Bradford District Police, said: "These arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into non-recent sexual offences against a child in the Bradford area. “We are focussed on victims and survivors who have bravely come forward to speak to us, trusting us to pursue those responsible and bring them to justice.
“We hope that investigations like this show we take all reports of sexual abuse seriously and you will be supported by officers with experience of dealing with these kind of offences.” To report child sexual abuse and exploitation, contact www.westyorkshire.
