TV Licensing is handing out THOUSANDS of £0 TV Licences in a major boost. UK households who receive Pension Credit are getting £0 TV Licences as part of their benefit from the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ). Since July, an extra 42,500 pensioners are now in receipt of Pension Credit and will receive the Winter Fuel Payment which may entitle them to a free TV Licence.
If you're aged 75 or over and receiving Pension Credit you're entitled to a free television licence for your main home. Until 1 August 2020 anyone aged over 75 was entitled to a free licence. If you are not already claiming Pension Credit the benefits calculator will help you to check if you are entitled to claim it.
