Clouds blanket the region, and as winds pick up out of the northwest this week, we have a cooler stretch ahead to kick off the new year.

At least a little patchy fog should linger for one more day; however, we will see a little more sun through the rest of the week, but the weather will not be as pleasant. Monday's highs top out near freezing once again for much of the area, with mostly cloudy skies still taking over after the morning fog clears. Monday night is when we see that northwest breeze pick up a little, and that will usher in cooler temperatures for the new year.

Tuesday's highs stay in the 20s with mostly cloudy skies continuing with winds at 10-20 mph out of the northwest for much of the afternoon. ADVERTISEMENT Heading through the rest of the week, temperatures tumble down a bit, dropping into the teens by New Year's Day. And while we are looking to turn sunnier by the end of the week, temperatures continue to fall, with highs staying in the single digits by the time we wrap up the week.
