"Turkmenistan can make an important contribution among thenatural gas suppliers for the Southern Gas Corridor and VerticalGas Corridor projects. The plans to expand the Southern GasCorridor are of strategic importance, as new gas suppliers areneeded, especially for the Balkan and South-Eastern Europeancountries. Romania supports the expansion of the Southern GasCorridor and believes that immediate action and concrete steps areneeded to achieve this.

Given theexistence of a real untapped potential for cooperation, directdialogue with partners from Turkmenistan can allow theidentification of new directions for cooperation in the energysector.
