Walla Walla Valley area high schools had their respective varsity athletics teams in action Tuesday.

McLoughlin High School’s varsity girls soccer team saw its season-opening win streak end Tuesday, Sept. 17, as the Pioneers fell to Riverside with a 2-0 setback in an Oregon School Activities Association Class 3A-2A-1A Special District 5 showdown on their Milton-Freewater pitch. Defeat dropped the Pioneers record so far this season to 3-1.

WESTON-McEWEN 3, MAC-HI 2 — The TigerScots (7-5) prevailed by scores of 20-25, 25-10, 25-21, 22-25, 15-12 in Athena. COLLEGE PLACE 3, CONNELL 2 — The Hawks (5-1) rallied to win a South Central Athletic Conference match on campus by scores of 25-21, 16-25, 16-25, 25-18, 15-13.
