Donald Trump's presidential election victory was a foregone conclusion early Wednesday, and was declared in Idaho much sooner than that. The Gem State favored the Republican presidential candidate for the 15th straight time Tuesday, with voters casting nearly 600,000 votes — 67.1% — in Trump's favor, according to unofficial results posted by the Secretary of State's Office.
It was the largest percentage of votes cast for a presidential candidate in Idaho since 2004, when George W. Bush carried the state with 68.4% of the tally.
The last time Idaho was won by a Democratic candidate for president was 1964, when Lyndon B. Johnson defeated Barry Goldwater in a landslide decision, winning 44 states. Locally, Trump won 42 of Idaho's 44 counties, with Blaine (61.
7%) and Teton (51.7%) favoring Kamala Harris. The vice president's victory in Teton County was narrow, 3,463 votes to 3,005 for Trump.
Trump won 73.3% of the vote in Canyon County and 53.8% in Ada County.
