President-elect Donald Trump took to the stage just before 2:30 a.m. to declare: “We made history tonight for a reason.
” “I will not rest until we have delivered a strong, prosperous America,” Trump added from Palm Beach, Fla. “This is a magnificent victory.” Trump took to the stage just after being declared the winner in Pennsylvania by the Associated Press, with numerous media outlets declaring him the next president.
Winning Pennsylvania put Trump just three electoral votes shy of defeating Kamala Harris to win the White House. A win in Alaska or any of the outstanding battleground states — Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona or Nevada — would send the Republican former president back to the Oval Office. But Trump didn’t hold back saying his victory “came from all quarters” that “united” around “a common core of common sense.
” Trump introduced his running-mate, Vice President-elect JD Vance, who said “we just witnessed the greatest comeback in American history” and said the incoming administration would do the same for the economy. Trump said he will serve as president with the motto: “Promises made, promises kept.” “Success is going to bring us together,” he added.
