Truck mows down woman, her child survives

Vadodara: A woman, who was travelling with her child, was crushed to death near Nilamber Circle in the city on Monday morning. The woman was identified as Himani Srimali . The police said that a concrete mixer truck rammed into Srimali 's two-wheeler.

She was with her 2.5-year-old daughter. The truck even dragged the two-wheeler for a few feet.



Srimali, whose husband works in a private firm, died on the spot, but the child survived with minor injuries. A search has been launched for the truck driver who escaped from the spot after the accident. The police said that it has taken several initiatives to tackle rash driving, but the heavy vehicles are being driven rashly across the city throughout the day.
