
One team was able to push through to win their game while another didn't have enough players to compete in Triton Men's Volleyball League on Feb. 2. In the opener on the night, Team Elevate pushed Troupe to a five-set match but couldn't finish the upset bid as Troupe won the match 3-2.
The Andersen Bombers called in a forfeit against the UOG Tritons before the match was supposed to be play, as the Bombers wouldn't have enough players to play the match. Troupe looked to be heading to an easy win in the match after winning the first set, 25-17, but an improving Team Elevate made the second set tough on Troupe before losing to the league leaders 26-24. The third set was a different story, as Elevate won a tough set 26-24 themselves.
Team Elevate played their best set of the season so for in the fourth set, routing Troupe in the set, 25-15 and sending the match to a 15-point fifth set. But Troupe came out strong and led 8-4 when the teams traded sides and went on to the win the set and the match, 15-6. Troupe is 4-0 in the Triton League while Team Elevate 1-3.
With the forfeit win, the UOG Tritons are now 2-2 on the season, while the Bombers fall to 1-3. The Triton Men's Volleyball League plays again Sunday in the UOG Calvo Field House with two matches: All games are played in the UOG Calvo Field House.
