By Colin McCarthy Triston Casas has been in an offensive slump through the first three weeks of the season. On Saturday night, though, he delivered the Red Sox an extra innings win over Chicago, sending a fly ball high off the Green Monster with the bases loaded. Casas smiled wide as his teammates embraced him on the field.

The 10th inning knock was his only hit of the game, and he’s batting .172 on the year, but a memorable moment at Fenway Park could be enough to gain some confidence with his swing. “Been getting a lot of good swings off, not particularly finding the barrel, but I’m going to stay positive,” Casas said.
“Keep swinging at strikes, try to control the zone, but yeah, it was just a big day overall.” Since his breakout year in 2023, Casas has been a relatively steady force offensively. He batted .
263 that season with 24 home runs and 65 RBIs that year. His 2024 season was marred by a lengthy injury, but he still put up 13 home runs and 32 RBIs, batting .241 in his 63 games.
So, there’s no reason to believe Casas won’t find his rhythm at some point. Red Sox manager Alex Cora shared Casas’s positivity postgame. “He’s been actually swinging the bat well, more aggressive, with more conviction,” Cora told reporters.
“He took a walk today, and that’s important. In that situation [10th inning], just put the ball in play.” “[Triston Casas] is swinging the bat more agressive and more conviction.
