Chat show host Trisha Goddard, who entered the Celebrity Big Brother house this week, revealed last year that she was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer.

Trisha Goddard has bravely disclosed that she is receiving palliative care inside the Celebrity Big Brother house after being diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. The 67-year-old television presenter, who became a household name with her eponymous ITV show 'Trisha' in 1998, shared last year that her cancer had returned, after previously beating the illness in 2008. Despite facing stage four cancer, Trisha is determined to live life to the fullest and refuses to be pitied, reports the Mirror .

The star admitted to "having a bag full of meds" which will accompany her throughout her stay in the famous house as she valiantly confronts her condition. Speaking to the outlet, she revealed her plans to "jump on a plane immediately after the show ends" for an infusion. She explained: "So my oncologist is my biggest cheerleader and is working with the Big Brother team.

I've got a special therapist who's happy to work with the medic on the show. "My palliative care team - and when I say that word everybody screams and runs away, but it's symptom treatment - is working with the team here too. And then when it comes to my treatment, I had one infusion on Monday, so I've got to jump on a plane and go straight back to have the next one as soon as the show is over.

"I've got a bag full of meds that I normally have which will be with me in the house. So my oncologist has planned my treatment around the production schedule." Fans were left in awe of the star's remarkable optimism as she made a powerful splash on Celebrity Big Brother, explaining her appearance was to motivate others battling illness when she entered the ITV house on Monday (April 7).

Speaking with presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best, Trisha shared: "It's my new normal. I'm going into the Big Brother house to show you can't be so scared of dying that you become frightened of living." She mentioned her previous reluctance to join the show, citing persistent invites over the years, until her daughter highlighted how she could enlighten viewers about cancer's day-to-day challenges.

She went on: "I've been asked to do it every single year, and I've always thought: 'Are you kidding me?' "When I told my daughter she made a really good point. I've got my Instagram and I've really been banging on about the language used when it comes to cancer and about services that are needed so people can live their best lives. "I shout into Instagram but being on Big Brother would show people how you can live successfully with cancer and not be so scared of dying that you become scared of living.

So that's why I'm doing it." Taking to social media after her CBB debut, fans praised the mum-of-two for her bravery. One user took to X - formerly known as Twitter - saying: "It's so brave of her to go in given her prognosis and to share that with the nation.

" Another exclaimed: "Wow what a brave woman Trisha is. Hats off to her" while yet another added: "All love to Trisha Goddard. Literally losing her life and taking all opportunities coming to her to live her life and have all the experiences she can.
