(KRON) -- Three suspected thieves were caught with burglary tools and copper wire in a vacant building by police — all thanks to a timely tip from an alert resident, said the Pleasanton Police Department.Several Gilroy smoke shops busted for selling ‘magic shrooms’: PDThe incident happened around 2 p.m.

Wednesday when PPD officers responded to a report of suspicious individuals entering the empty building near the 4100 block of Hopyard Road.After setting up a police perimeter and search of the building, Pleasanton police located three men — described to be in their 50s and 60s — with the break-in tools and copper wire in their possession (pictured below).Photo courtesy of Pleasanton Police Department.



"Thanks to a quick-thinking community member, we were able to stop a crime in progress!" said Pleasanton PD in a social media post. "Don't forget: If you see something, say something." Police said the suspects were arrested at the scene and taken to Santa Rita Jail.

It is not yet known what charges the trio is facing..
