Tributes have poured in for the runner who tragically died during the Two Oceans Half Marathon in Cape Town on Sunday.

Tributes have poured in for the runner who tragically died during the Two Oceans Half Marathon in Cape Town on Sunday. The runner was named as 48-year-old Taryn Armour from KwaZulu-Natal. According to her LinkedIn profile, Armour worked as an occupational therapist.

Medical team Armour collapsed just past the halfway mark after the 11km medical point up Southern Cross Drive in Constantia. The race’s medical team attended to her, but she sadly passed away. A memorial service will be held at Cityhill Church in Hillcrest on Saturday, 12 April.



In a post on social media, the organisers extended their condolences to Armour’s family. ‘As a team, Taryn’s husband, children and entire family are never far from our thoughts. We extend our heartfelt condolences to them at this extremely difficult time,’ read a Two Oceans Marathon Facebook post on Thursday.
