Excelsior CorrespondentJAMMU, Mar 15: Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) organized a program at the Party office in Satwari today to pay tribute to the founder of “BAMCEF, DS4 and BSP”, Kanshi Ram on his 91st birth anniversary.During this program organized under the chairmanship of J&K BSP chief Darshan Rana, senior leaders and workers of the party paid tribute to Kanshi Ram by offering flowers on his picture. Darshan Rana while paying homage to the Party founder said that his life was full of struggle and he had to face caste discrimination.
In the year 1964, he started raising his voice against the discrimination against Dalits and in the year 1984, he laid the foundation of Bahujan Samaj Party.Rana said that they need to strengthen the Party by following the path shown by the founder of the Party and raise our voice against the discrimination against the backward and dalit class of the society. He said that BSP has been fighting against the discrimination with Dalits and whatever policies are being adopted by the current government against SC/ST and OBC class are being strongly opposed.
He said the time has come to unite and raise our voice against these discriminatory policies of the Government.Along with this, he demanded the Jammu and Kashmir Government that SC/ST and OBC employees in Government departments be given benefit of reservation in promotion. On the occasion, party state vice president Charanjit Chargotra, state coordinator Gurbaksh Gaurav, state general secretary Shashi Bhushan Thapa, Raja Singh, Sunil Majotra, Tilak Raj Bhagat, Shak Mohammad, Pawan Gupta and other party leaders were also present.
