Treaty United look to get back on track as Athlone visit Markets Field

TREATY United return to league action this Friday evening on the back of their disappointing Sports Direct FAI Cup quarter-final exit. Treaty suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to fellow First Division side Wexford FC in their last eight FAI Cup clash at Ferrycarrig Park on Friday night last. A first-half double brace from Isamala Divin and Thomas Oluwa saw Wexford ease past their Treaty in front of an attendance of 1,063.

The result ended Treaty's hopes of reaching a second FAI Cup semi-final in three seasons. Treaty have not been firing on all cylinders of late with one draw and now three losses in their last four outings in all competitions. Treaty United snatched a point at the very death at home to Kerry FC as Evan O’Connor’s 101st minute goal cancelled out Sean McGrath’s opener in a 1-1 draw in their most recent outing in the First Division earlier this month.



Treaty United's last win in the First Division was a 4-1 victory over Longford Town at Bishopsgate on August 10. Treaty United's hopes of reaching the promotion play-offs are all but over. Eighth-placed Treaty United currently sit 11 points off the promotion play-off positions in the First Division.
