Traveller group vacate camp at Chester park and ride site

A GROUP of Travellers who had set up an unauthorised camp in Chester have now left the location. Cheshire West and Chester Council confirmed this morning (Monday, September 16) that the group, who had arrived in six caravans at Wrexham Road Park & Ride site last Tuesday (September 10), have now moved on. An officer from the Cheshire and Warrington Traveller Team (CWTT) visited the area to conduct a welfare assessment at the end of last week.

On privately-owned land, as was the case with this encampment, the responsibility falls on the landowner to deal with the issue. The CWTT are able to provide advice and support if requested..
