Transport monitoring underway for COP29 in Baku

Specifically, on October 19, from 11:00 to 15:30, transportmonitoring activities will take place in the city centre, focusingon designated hospitality venues for conference participants, theHeydar Aliyev Centre, and Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Themovement of designated shuttles and special vehicles assigned forCOP29 will be tested during this period. The transport monitoring for COP29, carried out by the COP29Azerbaijan OC, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and theAzerbaijani Land Transport Agency, have engaged over 20 vehiclesand 15 shuttles.

It should be noted that the intra-city monitoringprocess is implemented without any traffic restrictions. Theprimary aim of conducting these monitoring is to test the movementpatterns of designated transportation vehicles that will be usedduring the COP29 event, as well as to prepare for managingpotential traffic congestion. Nearly 350 specially trained COP29 volunteers are alsoparticipating in the process to assess their preparedness forassignments during the conference.



It is noteworthy that the monitoring will proceed with partialroad restrictions from 02:30 to 04:30 on October 20. During thisphase, the process will involve designated shuttles, taxis, andspecial service vehicles heading towards central hotels, the eventvenue at Baku Stadium, and Heydar Aliyev International Airport..
