Shearer described Toney as an excellent footballer, adding that will do a good job for the Red Devils should he join Erik ten Hag’s side. “I like Ivan Toney,” Shearer told Betfair.

“I think he can do a really good job for someone – he’s an excellent player. “I am slightly surprised that Man United haven’t enquired about him. “Maybe they have, maybe there’s something brewing behind the scenes that we don’t know about, but I think he’d do pretty well at Old Trafford.

“I thought they were poor in forward areas against Brighton and without Hojlund – I know they have signed Zirkzee – but they are playing Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount as two false nines and up to now, I’m not sure that’s worked for them. I think Ivan Toney would be a really good option for them.” Related Topics: Alan Shearer transfer Don't Miss Super Eagles: Mba seeks support for Labbadia You may like Transfer: Arsenal drag Man United to court over fee for Obi-Martin Transfer: He’s better than everyone at Man United – Ten Hag gets backing to sign Sterling Transfer: Jadon Sancho’s preferred club to join revealed Transfer: Arsenal submit £17m for Garcia after reaching agreement Transfer: Another Chelsea goalkeeper to leave Stamford Bridge after Kepa Transfer: Kepa signs one-year extension with Chelsea, joins Bournemouth on loan Advertise About Us Contact Us Privacy-Policy Terms Copyright © Daily Post Media Ltd.
