TransPennine Express (TPE) has a First Class treat in store for customers with the launch of its new spring/summer menu — and there’s something special on tap for beer lovers. Customers travelling First Class on the TransPennine Kitchen: West Coast route can now raise a can of Lancaster Supernova, a zesty Pale Ale, created exclusively for TPE. Crafted by the award-winning Lancaster Brewery, Lancaster Supernova is a refreshing Pale Ale bursting with spicy and tropical notes.
The eye-catching can has been designed by TPE’s own customer relations specialist, Lucy Richards, who is also a talented illustrator and has a masters degree in design. Lucy has designed other products before including beer mats, but Lancaster Supernova marks the first can she's illustrated. The new seasonal menu was launched on TPE services running between Manchester and Liverpool to Edinburgh and Glasgow and brings a range of tempting new options to the table.
Customers can tuck into dishes such as Scottish smoked salmon penne pasta, chicken and leek pie, harissa vegetable stew, and for breakfast, there is a new addition of Belgian waffles. The new menu also sees the introduction of a chorizo sausage roll, continuing TPE’s partnership with Pie Demand, based along the train operators’ route in Carlisle. Since launching TransPennine Kitchen: West Coast last year, TPE has worked closely with Pie Demand, more than 7,495 caramelised onion sausage rolls sold across the route – a testament to their popularity with customers.
