The first trailer has been released for “Shame,” “12 Years a Slave” and “Hunger” director Sir Steve McQueen’s new WW2 historical drama film “Blitz”. The story follows the epic journey of George (Elliott Heffernan), a 9-year-old boy in World War II London whose mother Rita (Saoirse Ronan) sends him to safety in the English countryside. George, defiant and determined to return home to his mom and his grandfather Gerald (Paul Weller) in East London, embarks on an adventure, only to find himself in immense peril, while a distraught Rita searches for her missing son.

Harris Dickinson, Benjamin Clementine, Kathy Burke, Stephen Graham, Leigh Gill, Mica Ricketts, CJ Beckford, Alex Jennings, Joshua McGuire, Hayley Squires, Erin Kellyman, and Sally Messham co-star. Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, Michael Schaefer, Anita Overland, and Adam Somner produce. “Blitz” will be released in select United States theaters on November 1st before it arrives on Apple TV+ on November 22nd.



It’s also set as the opening film of the BFI London Film Festival on October 9th..
