Traffic diversions announced for Ambedkar Jayanti in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad

1 2 Pune: Traffic diversions will be implemented in the city on Monday to facilitate celebrations for Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti. Deputy commissioner of police (Traffic) Amol Zende issued the notification regarding diversions at Vishrantwadi Chowk near the district collector's office, and at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Statue on MG Road in Camp. Vehicles will not be allowed to head towards the collectorate area from Juna Bazaar Chowk.

Those going to the location will be halted at GPO Chowk, ISKCON temple in Camp and at Nehru Chowk. Motorists are advised to take alternative routes. Vehicular movement has been diverted from Jail Road, Vishrantwadi-Airport Road and Dhanori Road.



Police have diverted vehicles from Nehru Road, Juna Bazaar to RTO Chowk, Raja Bahadur Mill Road, GPO Chowk to Ghorpadi Road, Narpatgiri Chowk to Maldhakka Road, and to the Pune railway station, Koyaji Road. The Pimpri Chinchwad traffic branch has planned similar diversions from 12 pm on Monday to facilitate smooth traffic to Ambedkar Chowk in Pimpri on Pune-Mumbai highway. From Mahavir Chowk in Chinchwad, vehicles towards the chowk via service roads will be prohibited.

An alternative route is via D-Mart through the grade separator towards Pimpri. The stretch from Indira Gandhi Bridge to Ambedkar Chowk will remain closed for vehicular traffic. Alternative diversions will be in place for both heavy and light vehicles.

Diversions will also be set for vehicles approaching Lokmanya Hospital Chowk, Mahavir Chowk, River View Chowk, Chinchwad Farm Road, and Bhakti-Shakti Chowk. Parking for those taking part in celebrations and private vehicles will be arranged at HA Ground in Sant Tukaramnagar..
