KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic on several major highways across the country is expected to increase, with congestion anticipated from this afternoon onwards as people make their way home following the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays.According to an update from the East Coast Expressway (LPT) account on X, as of 6pm today, traffic is reported to be congested at multiple locations along the Kuala Lumpur-Karak route.On the LPT E8 Highway, congestion is reported in the direction of Kuala Lumpur, including a 12.
7-kilometre stretch from Km74.5 at the Karak-Bentong toll plaza, 2.3km from Km58.
5 at the Bentong toll plaza, and 6km from Km58.2 at Genting Sempah.Meanwhile, Plus Malaysia Bhd (Plus), in its latest update on X, also reported slow-moving traffic along the southbound stretch of the highway from Juru Auto City to the Juru toll plaza.
From the south, traffic was reported to be slow from Bandar Baharu to Alor Pongsu due to an accident at Km176.9, which caused the emergency lane to be blocked.The smart lane system has been activated at several locations on highways currently experiencing increased traffic flow.
