Tractor runs over youth in Balasore, family protests and demands compensation from vehicle owner

In a tragic incident a youth was run over by a tractor in Balasore district of Odisha, the family has however demanded compensation from the vehicle owner. According to reports yesterday, while harvesting paddy in the field, a tractor ran over the youth. In a critical condition, he was first shifted to Khantapada Medical College, then to Balasore District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) and since he became more critical, he was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

However, on reaching SCBMCH Cuttack, the doctor there declared him brought dead. The deceased youth has been identified as Gautam Mallick of Bardadihi village of Kandagardhi panchayat under Nilagiri block of Balasore district. The family members of the deceased have expressed their helplessness and demanded compensation by placing the body of the youth in front of the house of the vehicle owner.
