Track and field teams compete at Cane Bay

Track and field athletes from 25 schools across Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties competed April 9 at Cane Bay High School during the 2025 Tri County Meet of Champions.

Track and field athletes from 25 schools across Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties competed April 9 at Cane Bay High School during the 2025 Tri County Meet of Champions. Summerville had the most Top 5 finishes for the Summerville-area teams. Green Wave sophomore A’zedah Anderson won the Girls 100 Dash and placed second in the Girls 200 Dash.

Sophomore Jillian Fickling won the Girls 400 Hurdles and placed second in the Girls 100 Hurdles. Sophomore David Greer won the Boys 3200 Run. Junior Warren Nelson placed second in the Boys High Jump and third in the Boys Long Jump.



Junior Taylor Blackwelder placed second in the Girls 3200 Run and fifth in the Girls 1600 Run. Ashley Ridge senior Alana Braxton won the Girls Long Jump and Girls Triple Jump. The Swamp Foxes also claimed four of the top eight spots in the Boys Pole Vault.

Cane Bay’s Jayden Anderson won both of the boys’ hurdle events during the Tri County Meet of Champions. Cane Bay senior Jayden Anderson won the Boys 110 Hurdles and Boys 400 Hurdles. Fort Dorchester sophomore Kendell McFadden won the Girls 200 Dash and placed second in the Girls 100 Dash.

Senior Malayia Morrow won the Girls 400 Dash and placed third in the Girls 200 Dash. Senior Lailah Holman won the Girls High Jump and senior Saniyah Joyner won the Girls Discus. Top 5 places by school Ashley Ridge: Kendall Wilcher (2nd Boys 800 Run), Quentel Riley (3rd Boys 110 Hurdles), Boys 4x400 Relay (3rd), Dallas Turner (5th Boys High Jump), Karter Gladis (3rd Boys Pole Vault), Zeke Panter (5th Boys Pole Vault), Luca Sciannamea (4th Boys Shot Put), Love Curry (5th Girls 400 Dash) and Alana Braxton (1st Girls Long Jump/ 1st Girls Triple Jump).
