For anyone who’s taken a scroll through Tracee Ellis Ross ’s Instagram , it’s no great surprise that the actor is a bona fide fashion plate. Her latest post? A photo of her decked out in a burgundy, scaly Ferragamo mockneck minidress, worn to guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race . But not every outfit can be Drag Race -ready—and nor should it.

Recently, during promotion for Black Mirror, Ross gave a seminar in press tour style, offering some sartorial lessons we can all bring to our closets. Last night, Ross and her Black Mirror co-star Rashida Jones stopped by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation for a screening followed by a moderated conversation. The actor, styled by Karla Welch, reminded us that when we don’t want to break out a heavy winter coat, we can always embrace layering.

She wore a positively professorial mustard yellow Acne Studios corduroy blazer atop a navy and white striped button-up and navy turtleneck, which she paired with high-waisted navy trousers. Yesterday, Ross also showed off two different interpretations of the same idea. She arrived at Good Morning America wearing a structured, sleeveless tomato red top and a matching low-waisted A-line skirt from Entire Studios.

She styled the standout set with a pair of black Bottega Veneta pumps with a V-shaped vamp, a brown suede Métier clutch, and chunky gold earrings. Later on, for an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers , she riffed on the leather skirt set in a Brandon Maxwell look from fall 2025 —a black longsleeve and matching midi skirt. While Ross swapped her gold jewelry for silver and her suede clutch for a Bottega Intrecciato, she stayed true to her pumps.

She topped off the all-black look with a statement accessory: a pair of thick black square eyeglasses. When it comes to press tour style, Tracee Ellis Ross’s class is now in session..
