Cat Gold, 31, has become the newest member of Wimborne BID's board of directors. The BID board is made up of six levy-paying business owners and two co-opted members, who all offer their skills on a voluntary basis. Cat, who is client services manager and part of the senior leadership team at Bournemouth-based Uprated, brings a wealth of marketing and brand-building knowledge to the role.
She started her career as the first apprentice at Poole marketing agency Intergage. Cat said: "Wimborne has such a great mix of businesses – multi-million pound, homegrown, family and sole traders. "It’s so important to protect this wonderful variety we’re so lucky to have in this town and help encourage even more to set up home here.
"I’m keen to use my skills to focus on continuing to enhance footfall and support strategic growth in Wimborne, especially as it becomes Town of Culture in 2026." Fiona Harwood, chair of Wimborne BID, said: "The board is thrilled to welcome Cat. "Her enthusiasm for the town is heartwarming and to have access to her extensive knowledge is such a bonus.
