Tottenham Hotspur have, according to reports, identified the player they want to replace Destiny Udogie as their left-back should the Italian leave.

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are keeping their eye on AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez ahead of the summer transfer window, according to TBR Football . It has hardly been a mesmeric season for Spurs, one which has seen them spend much of the campaign in the middle of the top flight table. Having been eliminated from both domestic cup competitions, Spurs will have to win the Europa League if they hope to alleviate pressure on manager Ange Postecoglou .

Spurs have been ravaged by injuries across the season, predominantly across their defence and goalkeeping options. Such problems have forced rotation, which has limited consistency and is the key factor in why the Lilywhites have, by their standards, had such an underwhelming term. Regardless of their manager’s future, Spurs will no doubt already have an eye on the coming transfer window and seem keen on reinforcing their defensive ranks.

Spurs Like Hernandez As per TBR Football, Theo Hernandez is a player whose entourage Spurs have kept in contact with. A French international, the left-back has been with AC Milan since 2019, when he joined them from Real Madrid . Since then, Hernandez has developed into one of the best attack-minded full-backs in the world, an opinion shared by his manager, Sergio Conceicao .

Milan will not want to lose such a talent, especially not on a free transfer, which may see them forced into making a sale in the summer amidst interest from a number of Premier League clubs, such as Tottenham. Spurs are fairly well-stocked for options at left-back, though that could be set to change.

Destiny Udogie is of interest to Manchester City , who could tempt the Italian away from North London and leave a gap for someone of Hernandez’s quality. Djed Spence has done well in the position across the campaign, but could perhaps move back to his favoured right side should Spurs sign Hernandez, who would be a brilliant addition to their side.
