Pune: Total daily flight movements at Pune airport touched 200 for the first time on Sunday, with 100 arrivals and 100 departures recorded. To date, the airport has recorded total daily flight movements between 185 and 190. "Some new flights have started from the airport recently, including those to Goa, Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, etc.
These new connections resulted in the rise in flight movements," an airport official said. The official, however, added that this won't happen every day of the week. "Many of these flights aren't daily flights , so the movements will keep fluctuating.
However, it is good news for us that the total flight movements have touched 200." Officials added that with the winter schedule a little more than a month away, they are expecting more flights. "The new terminal building is larger, and we don't expect any hassles.
One will see new flights and we hope that more international connections come into play. We always encourage airlines to start new flights. Minister of state for civil aviation Murlidhar Mohol has also taken a proactive approach for Pune airport.
