Top Vancouver cafe known for stunning spaces to launch new location with exclusive treats

Nemesis Coffee has always felt like more than just a local spot to grab a cup of Joe. After opening its first Gastown location in 2017, the concept quickly picked up buzz and became known for its incredible coffee program, top-notch bites, and outstanding vibes.Years later, Nemesis opened its second spot at the Polygon Gallery in North Vancouver. This was when we were first introduced to the team’s now-signature cobalt blue branded in-house bakery, the Dope Bakehouse. Again, it was a quick hit with locals and visitors alike.The third location on Great Northern Way in Vancouver was one of the most unique food and beverage openings for the city in recent history. The cafe opened inside a striking red flower-shaped pavilion on the edge of Mount Pleasant.Now, we’re very excited to share that it’s time for the popular local brand to expand once again, as a fourth outpost from the team is well underway.Nemesis will open its newest location in Metro Vancouver — in Surrey, to be exact.INTRODUCING NEMESIS PAVILIONNemesis Pavilion will open next month at the new Surrey Pavilion, located in the heart of City Centre.The new location promises the same directly traded, thought-provoking coffee program we know and love, along with the elevated brunch and pastries we crave on the regular from executive chef Mielye Mitchell and executive sous chef Lina Serrano.At launch, Nemesis Pavilion will offer something exclusive to its location: donuts.“By design, Nemesis Pavilion will be equipped with a full pastry kitchen. This will allow us to create fresh pastries throughout the day, including donuts, which will be exclusive to this new location initially,” says Jess Reno, CEO and founder at Nemesis Coffee.We’re told the donuts will come in nostalgic flavours and offer a contemporary spin on classic creations. Considering the Dope Bakhouse’s track record, it’s safe to say we are looking forward to checking those morsels come opening.The space itself is 2,600 sq ft and offers seats for 50 people. There’s an outdoor patio that will be operational during the warmer months.“Similar to our other locations, we wanted to place our next Nemesis in a neighbourhood where arts, culture, and education are celebrated,” adds Reno.Nemesis collaborated with the Marcon interior design team to create a space described as a cultural hub. Aiming to be thoughtful and refined, the space was inspired by modern architecture and will highlight the warmth of wood, steel, and glass with its design. Including the aforementioned kitchen team, the Nemesis Pavilion service team packs a punch. Senior operations manager Albert Tang, operations manager Karl Broadway, and director of coffee Nathaniel Fried will all be working their magic at this new outpost.Nemesis Pavilion is located at 13380 102A Avenue in Surrey and is expected to open in February 2025.We’ll keep you posted on an opening date.
