Top streamer IShowSpeed appealed for patience and calm among fans during his first visit in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 17. Clips from his five-hour livestream showed the top Internet personality, who goes by Speed, being chased by a mob of screaming fans with smartphones while he was travelling around town. "How do you say 'Calm down' in Malaysia? Sabar! Sabar! Sabar!" he said as his security personnel tried to stop fans from getting too close to him. While trying to leave another venue, Speed also screamed "Diam (keep quiet)" at hundreds of fans who were shouting his name. Amid the chaos, Speed was also informed by his crew that some fans had apparently broken his camera: “That's not the way.

Speed expressed his frustration that local fans did not listen when he asked them to be patient.
Despite some stressful moments, Speed appeared to have fun during his time in town. He greeted some fans and accepted gifts like the Malaysian flag, a box of fried chicken, action figures and batik clothing. He also tried local food like Ramly burger and paid US$42 or RM181 for durian.
Even Speed was surprised by the price: "US$42 for some fruit? That's crazy." However, no one told Speed not to swallow the seed as he choked and had to get help. Speed had a scary moment when he choked on durian seed.

He ended his trip on a high note as Speed shared that he gained more than 120,000 new YouTube subscribers during the stream and applauded Malaysia for the achievement. Prior to Malaysia, Speed also visited Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam as part of his 10-day tour around South-East Asia. He is expected to visit Singapore next. Speed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr, is a 19-year-old streamer known for his loud personality and dramatic reactions.
