Award winning chef and TV star Tommy Banks has revealed plans to open a pop-up stall in THOR'S in Parliament Street – something that will allow him ‘showcase his signature flavours in a relaxed, festival-style setting’. Tommy achieved his first Michelin star at the age of 24 and owns three restaurants in North Yorkshire - The Black Swan at Oldstead, Roots in Marygate in York, and The Abbey Inn, Byland – and is a key part of the city’s culinary scene. The menu will feature familiar favourite items such as beef tartare (from The Black Swan at Oldstead), kimchi fried chicken (from award-winning pub The Abbey Inn, Byland), pies from the Christmas Market, and specialist cocktails such as the Tommy’s Turbo Shandy – a zingy, refreshing summer cocktail featuring locally foraged liqueur. Tommy said: “I’m really excited to be part of THOR’s this summer. York really comes alive in the warmer months, and it’s such a vibrant city, especially when the sun shines.

“Creating a menu for such a fun, food setting has been great – and we’re looking forward to bringing our bold, street-food flavours to THOR’s with subtle nods to my award-winning restaurants.” In addition to Tommy, York favourite YUZU Street Food will be returning with their Asian fusion street food offerings and food blogger York on a Fork will be bringing a rotating street food cabin to Parliament Street – something that will see a variety of surprise vendors and menus visit the city over the course of the summer.
