Toyota is gearing up to broaden its SUV lineup in India over the next two to three years with four significant new models Toyota is believed to introduce up to four new SUVs in India over the next two to three years, including a highly anticipated all-electric SUV. This electric SUV will be built on the same platform as the Maruti Suzuki eVX, highlighting Toyota’s ongoing collaboration with Suzuki. Expected to debut in the second half of next year, this EV will also be exported to various international markets.

1. Toyota e-SUV (eVX Based): The midsize electric SUV, scheduled for launch in the second half of 2025, will draw design inspiration from the Urban SUV concept revealed last year, featuring sleek and modern styling. Expected to offer a driving range of up to 550 km, the SUV will be powered by a 60 kWh battery pack in its top-spec variants.

All-New Toyota Fortuner: The mild-hybrid Toyota Fortuner, already available in some global markets, comes with a 48-volt MHEV system that enhances performance, particularly during acceleration and low-speed driving. It also improves fuel efficiency and reduces emissions when paired with the 2.8L four-cylinder GD series diesel engine.

Additionally, a next-gen Fortuner is reportedly in development, featuring a new turbo petrol engine. While the exact launch date for the mild-hybrid Fortuner in India remains uncertain, it’s expected to arrive sometime in 2025. 3.

7-Seater Toyota Hyryder: The 7-seater Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is expected to launch in early to mid-2025, entering the competitive three-row SUV segment to take on rivals like Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar. This upcoming version will get updated styling and an upgraded feature set while retaining the same 1.5L mild-hybrid and 1.
