GaadiWaadi -The table of top 10 SUVs in FY25 saw Tata Punch heading the standings ahead of Creta, Brezza, Fronx, Scorpio and NexonThe SUV space continues to fuel India’s automotive momentum with new names rising and old ones holding strong. Over the past financial year, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors have held down the fort but it is Mahindra and Hyundai that have stirred things up with significant gains in both volume and market footprint.Leading the pack is the Tata Punch, clocking 1.
96 lakh units — a 16 per cent jump over its previous tally. Despite the high volumes, the real disruption comes from Mahindra’s XUV 3X0 which posted a massive 82 per cent rise, moving from 53,962 units to nearly one lakh. This was mainly due to the arrival of the heavily updated model.
Close behind Punch, the Hyundai Creta saw a notable 20 per cent spike in demand, registering just under 1.95 lakh units. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza wasn’t too far off, moving over 1.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx, a relatively new face, has been potent in its appeal with a 23 per cent year-on-year rise.
On the flip side, Tata Nexon’s slight decline of 5 per cent hints at growing competition in its segment while the Grand Vitara and Venue had a quieter year, holding steady or showing minor drops. Meanwhile, the Sonet compact SUV enjoyed an appreciable 23 per cent jump in volumes. The Nexon garnered 1,63,008 units as against 1,71,697 units in FY24.
