I thought it was great. Act like you been there? Here's the thing: Nebraska hasn't been there. It's been a long, long, long time since the Huskers have been anywhere near there.

The fan base, players, coaches — heck the state — has waited what seemed like a lifetime for this kind of moment. A younger generation hasn't seen a team or a start or a win like this. Turn 'em loose.

Let 'em have fun. The second half, particularly on offense, was sloppy. NU had nine penalties in the second half and you had to wonder, was there really that much holding going — especially after the way NU's offensive line manhandled CU in the first half.

Maybe the emotions of the game got in the way. The Blackshirts maintained their high level and punter Brian Buschini (50.8 average) was a special teams MVP.

One thing to remember: Nebraska has to learn to play with a big lead. The Huskers haven't had a lot of practice. One Colorado official saying to another: "Rhule is out-coaching us bad.

" It's going to be an interesting week — and season — in Boulder. Up next: at rival Colorado State. Then the Big 12 starts.

In case the folks in Boulder forgot, the Big 12 has good football with hard-nosed coaches and physical lines and speed at the skill spots. There may not be an Oregon — unless it's Utah — but it's better and deeper than the Pac-12 and teams will be able to handle CU up front. Have fun.
