In The Odyssey, Tom Holland will appear as Telemachus, the son of Odysseus and Penelope, who goes on a journey to find his missing father after the Trojan War. Christopher Nolan’s highly awaited film The Odyssey has been in production for several weeks now. After the official release of Matt Damon’s first look last month, the appearance of Tom Holland’s character has been leaked online ahead of the planned reveal.

It looks like Holland will appear as Telemachus, the son of Odysseus and Penelope from Greek mythology, who goes on a journey to find his missing father after the Trojan War. While Nolan is known for showing accuracy in his movies, some called out makers for possible historical inaccuracies, after Holland’s look surfaced on the internet. The pictures, shared on Instagram by Deuxmoi, give a first glimpse of Holland’s character, who is seen wearing a long robe while standing on a boat with other soldiers.

In some images, Nolan is spotted guiding Holland and other artists. More photos reveal ancient boats near an old, deserted port. There are also shots of soldiers, with crew members assisting actors with their costumes, ensuring every detail is accurate.

Some people are unhappy with The Odyssey makers, claiming that a film based on Greek history should have Greek actors in key roles. Others pointed out that the armour shown in the leaked photos looks too modern and not true from the historical period. Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Eh, more trendy historically inaccurate armours, please.

" “I love the cast and can’t wait, but a movie about Greek people having no Greeks in it is pretty disappointing," a comment read. One more added, “Not the Roman armours." Last year, while confirming the project, Universal Pictures taking to X (Formerly known as Twitter), wrote, “Christopher Nolan’s next film The Odyssey is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology.

The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theatres everywhere on July 17, 2026." Other than Matt Damon and Tom Holland, The Odyssey also stars Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, Mia Goth, Samantha Morton, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Corey Hawkins, Bill Irwin, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee, Nick Tarabay, Jimmy Gonzales and Maurice Compte..
