Olympic diver Tom Daley is set to present a new More 4 show, 'Game of Wool'. He said: "I am very excited, and slightly nervous, to be taking on my first ever hosting role on a project that encompasses everything I'm passionate about. " Daley added: "I adore all things knitting and encourage everyone to pick up some knitting needles and give it a go! "He also expressed his anticipation for the show: "I cannot wait to see the creations our knitters will weave together, and hope this inspires people at home to get involved too! " The eight-part series will feature ten skilled knitters competing to become the UK's top knitting talent, with challenges including communal and individual tasks, filmed in the Scottish countryside.

Channel 4 hinted at the diverse range of knitting projects, saying: "Each week, the competitors must create a whole host of unique makes and larger-than-life sculptural pieces – all made from wool." The contestants will create various items, including clothing, jewellery, home accessories, furniture, sculptures, and may even try 'yarn bombing'. Contestants will be battling it out for the top spot, but they'll also have to win over the approval of two respected wool industry experts, Di Gilpin and Sheila Greenwell.

With their impressive backgrounds working with fashion powerhouses such as Vivienne Westwood, Chanel, and Nike, Di and Sheila will be keeping a close eye on the creative and technical aspects of the competition. Hello Halo's executive producer, Wendy Rattray, shared her excitement about the show's host, saying: "We're thrilled to have Tom as our host, there really couldn't be a more perfect fit as he's now known for his knitting skills almost as much as his Olympic diving successes!" She also noted that "Anyone can knit and Tom reflects a whole new generation who have picked up the needles and let their imaginations run wild."
