Ludhiana: A 17-month-old girl was crushed to death under an iron gate while playing in the courtyard of her under-renovation house. The incident was captured on the home’s CCTV cameras. The house was being renovated and the iron gate was kept against a wall, which fell down on Baani.
Machhiwara station house officer (SHO) inspector Pavittar Singh said masons working had removed an iron gate and kept it against a wall while fixing tiles. Baani, playing nearby, tried to climb the gate, which fell over and crushed her. Her grandmother Gurdev Kaur and the masons immediately pulled her out and rushed her to the hospital, but doctors declared her dead.
