By Jack Ami Tobalu displayed a fast finishing game against Six Tigers for an impressive 12- 0 victory in the NCD Governor’s Cup women’s rugby league Grand Final at the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium yesterday. They remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. The win came off smart play in all facets of the game to claim K5000 in prize-money for their efforts.

While 6-Mile Tigers settled for K3000 as Cup runner-up. Two tries wide out to Velma Locket and captain and Player of the Match Winnie Kasari saw them dominate the first-half. The Tigers struggled to find that spark to be effective.



Tobalu led 8-0 at the interval. In the second half, Shondie Dumbu crossed over on the left edge to seal the win. Jubilant Tobalu coach Kopi Kerea Jr attributed the win to the girls’ discipline and commitment to come this far.
