BOSTON -- The Celtics raised their 18th championship banner to the rafters at TD Garden on Tuesday night but viewers at home were not able to see the full banner raising ceremony. The conclusion of the banner raising that was broadcast on TNT cut away from the team in the midst of Boston’s roster raising their 2024 title banners to the rafters, much to the dismay of many Boston fans on social media. Here’s Banner 18 getting raised pic.twitter.com/P9QMqFaDRs Bob Cousy, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Cedric Maxwell were Celtics legends in attendance for the ceremony, bringing out the Larry O’Brien trophy to begin the ceremony.
From there, championship rings were presented to team ownership and then to the players, coaching staff and Brad Stevens. The rings featured elaborate details to honor the Celtics’ run to the 2024 title including a Celtics logo on the front, name plates for each players and an inner part of the ring that featured the championship banner.
