THEN India Sanmarga Ikya (TISI) Sangam Fiji has begun it’s constitution review consultation. This was revealed by TISI Sangam national president Parveen Kumar Bala. “The constitution that we have from the beginning, there had been some piecemeal amendments done to it,” he said.

Mr Bala said however, in today’s age and day, it was very difficult to have the current constitution in it’s form to run an organisation like Sangam Fiji. “The members felt that we need to review our constitution and we appointed a three-member committee, headed by Mr Shalend Krishna of Lautoka.” He said the committee was going around the country holding consultation.

“I am happy to know that members are contributing to it. It is very important to have rules set in place to move forward. “We cannot move forward with the Constitution we have right now because there are certain things that does not allow us to carry out the activities of the Sangam.

” Mr Bala said this was why there was a added need for us to review the constitution, which was also discussed in their last annual general meeting..
