Tiruvannamalai: The Karthigai Deepam festival commenced on December 1 at Annamalaiyar Temple, with the Bharani Deepam lit last morning and Maha Deepam scheduled for this evening. To ensure smooth traffic flow, authorities have designated 116 parking spaces for devotees.

Devotees arriving from Vellore via Polur will have 13 parking spaces from Anna Entrance Gate to Usambadi, while those coming from Sethupattu via Avalurpet will have three parking spaces from the Cheriyantal area. Similarly, devotees arriving from Senji via Kilpennathur will have 17 parking spaces from Periyar Statue to So. Kattukulam.



Tiruvannamalai Deepam: Parking Zones for Devotees Additional parking facilities have been provided for devotees arriving from Villupuram via Vettavalam, with nine parking spaces from Thiruvalluvar Statue to Keeranur. Those coming from Ulundurpettai via Thirukovilur will have 10 parking spaces from Thiruvalluvar Statue to Kolakudi village. Devotees arriving from Thiagathurugam via Manalurpettai will have 11 parking spaces from Kamaraja Statue to Shanmuka Industrial Arts College, while those coming from Thanipadi via Thandarambattu will have five parking spaces from Thamarai Nagar to Meiyur.

Furthermore, parking facilities have been set up at 10 places from West Police Station to Ottakudisal for devotees coming from Uthankarai via Chengam, and two places from Aadaiyur to Punalkadu for devotees coming from Pudupalayam via Kanchi. An additional 27 parking spaces are available on the Tiruvannamalai Outer Ring Road, Vellore Road, Deepam Nagar to Chengam Road, and Ayyampalayam. Nine parking spaces have been designated near Arunachaleswarar Temple and Central Bus Stand.

Police Assistance Centers have been established to provide assistance. Devotees can contact the City Crime Branch Police Station at 01475-222303, the Assistant Superintendent of Police’s office at 9498100431, or the Police Control Room at 9159616263 for emergencies. District SP M Sudhakar warned that vehicles parked outside designated areas from December 12-15 will incur fines and face legal action.

Devotees can utilise the WhatsApp number 9363622330 to receive a Google Maps link guiding them to designated parking spaces. The Tiruvannamalai District Police Department has urged devotees to park responsibly and follow guidelines to ensure a smooth and safe experience during the Karthigai Deepam festival.
